What We Want Part V

In my opinion, to restore constitutional rule in these United States, the repeal of the XVIth and XVIIth Amendments is of paramount importance. I’m sure all of you are familiar with the XVIth Amendment, the infamous income tax amendment. Many of you are probably not familiar with the XVIIth Amendment which changed how US Senators were ‘elected’, a change that took the power of the state governments away and repla…

What We Want Part IV
By;

Throughout history the one thing that separates freemen from slaves and citizens from subjects is the individual right to arms. It is important to note here that the term ‘arms’ includes more than just weapons. According to Blacks Law dictionary, 6th Edition the term ‘Arms’ means:
“Anything that a man wears for his defense, or takes in his hands as a weapon.”
So when I speak of arms I am t…

What We Want Part III
By;
Richard Correa Sr. (Sgt. US ARMY retired)
One of the most dangerous issues of today is the progressive view that a treaty with the UN is law superior to the US Constitution and that we should make interpretations of our law based on this and how foreign courts have resolved cases of a similar nature to cases before courts in the United States. Nothing can be further from the truth, but many people in the national government believe this and are even en…

What We Want Part II
By;
Richard Correa Sr. (Sgt. US ARMY retired)
One of the most important things we want is to destroy the doctrine that the US Constitution is a ‘living document’. This doctrine was established by the early progressive movement in the US. Like Dracula, feeding on the life blood of a person, this doctrine sucks the strength of the constitutional limitations on government out of the constitution and is draining the life from the republic. And like dealing with…

What We Want Part I
By;
Richard Correa Sr. (Sgt. US ARMY retired)
Many of us in the TEA Party and 9/12 movements have clearly stated what we don’t want such as government controlled health care, cap and trade, bailouts etc. And some of us have expressed what we do want, a restoration of constitutional limited government, free markets, restrictions on the power of congress and limits on how long some one can serve in congress. I find from the discussion online we all are in gene…

Going Alamo
Why jobs and companies are flocking to a big small-government state
KEVIN D. WILLIAMSON
If you want to know where the future is headed, look where the
people are going. And if you want to know where the people are going, check
with U-Haul. Here's an interesting indicator, first noted by the legendary
economist Arthur Laffer: Renting a 26-foot U-Haul truck to go from Austin to
San Francisco this July would cost you about $900. Renting the same truck to
go from San Francisco to Austi…

Guest Blog on VintageTexas
Howdy, y’all. Jane Nickles here. The toughest crowd I face is at the Annual Conference of the Society of Wine Educators (www.societyofwineeducators.org). SWE is a great organization…any of you interested in teaching wine courses at any level should check them out. But just imagine…a room full of people who know en…

Ole Dan was known to take a drink,
And sometimes late at night,
He’d leave the bar and stagger home,
When the moon was full and bright.
He lived atop a real steep hill,
And his ma’ would sometimes grin,
When Dan would almost reach the top,
Then run back down again.
He just couldn’t keep his balance,
With his bubble out of plum.
But ole Dan would turn and try again,
And up the hill he’d come.
Now pa’ was sittin’ on the porch,
And ma’ wuz shelling peas,
So they were not the least surprised,
Whe…

I remember the night I saw her there—in the Jumping Frog saloon,
She was dressed in a gown of dark satin, that shined in the light of the room.,
And around her neck hung costly pearls, and she smelled of fine perfume.
It was Lil, yes Diamond Lil, and the room was dimly lit,
And many men thronged to court her there, but none could match her grit.
Her face was furrowed from years of work, yet Lil always looked her best,
And her hands were rough as a Texas reef, but she was elegant none the less.…

This poem is dedicated to the soldier who was thumbing a ride between
San Antonio and Laredo. He had just returned from Viet Nam
.
“There’s men who somehow grip your eyes, and hold ‘em hard like a spell, and such was he and it seemed to me like a man who went through hell.”
Harvey was the first to fall, then Joseph followed suit,
And a sniper picked off Charlie, while Sammy laced his boot.
Then suddenly came the mortar shells, and then a hail of lead,
While a dozen Air Force 105’s were…

HELL IN TEXAS
Oh, the Devil in Hell they say he was chained,
And there for a thousand years he remained;
He neither complained nor did he groan,
But he decided he'd start a hell of his own,
Where he could torment the souls of men
Without being shut in a prison pen,
So he asked the Lord if He had any sand
Left over from making this great land.
The Lord He said, "Yes I have plenty on hand,
But it's away down south on the Rio Grande,
And to tell you the truth, the stuff is so poor
I doubt if 'twil…

Jesse James Sweeten was named after his great grandfather who owned a cotton plantation near Holly Springs, Mississippi that spanned two sections of rich fertile soil and took thirty-two slaves to operate.
Then came Uncle Tom’s Cabin, a Civil War, Lincoln’s death and the despotism that followed during the Johnson and Grant administrations.
The condition of the country was extremely critical and the North was hostile to the South. Southerners considered it despotic and a menace to free institut…

I was out of the country over Memorial Day and only now watched the awesome video you posted. My wife and I visited the American Cemetery at Normandy and Bloody Omaha in 1999 for the 55th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. We walked down that beach on a very cool morning with the relatively calm sea sending waves onto the beach and tried to imagine what it must have been like to have come ashore there with the nearly invincible defenses the Germans had entrenched there. The imagination just c…

My boyhood friend, Bill Wagner, passed over to the other side several days ago, a victim of cancer.
As was his character, he fought the “good fight” for a year and a half, and was surrounded by close friends and an adoring family, who cheered him on as he battled the insidious advers…

Reflections on a Raging Debate
by Gov. Rick Perry
May 17, 2009
About a month ago, I stood with a bipartisan group of Texas legislators to speak in support of a resolution honoring the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The resolution simply restates the Constitution's principle of Federalism, that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.
At a time when the federal government is passing trillion-dollar bailouts, b…

"I asked Justin if he could help me make a commercial for my group's Tea Party. He sat down at the laptop for about an hour and then brought this to me and asked "is this okay, Mom?" After I finished watching it, my stomach was in my throat.…
